Homemade Caramel Sauce

Ingredients:

1 stick of butter

2 cups of brown sugar

1 cup of heavy cream

1 TBSP vanilla

pinch of kosher salt

Melt your stick of butter on low in a larger sauce pan (the caramel will bubble up and you want plenty of room!) and then add all of your remaining ingredients. Which gently until everything is melted and allow it to come to a soft boil. Continue to whisk gently while it simmers for 5ish mins. Pour the hot caramel into a large mason jar or two small jars if you’d like to share some. It will thicken some as it cools on the counter but you’ll want to store it in the fridge once it cools if you aren’t planning on using it all right away. It will harden in the fridge but just take out as much as you need and reheat to drizzle on top of whatever you’d like! It is DELCIOUS in a morning cup of coffee, and the heat from the coffee will melt it. YUM!
